Many of you will have no doubt heard of ‘Inktober’. Inktober was created by a Mr Jake Parker and is an artistic challenge to draw an image in Ink every day over the period of October. Sounds easy right? -It is if you can remember once every October comes around, something I have failed at yearly- . You can draw in as much detail as you like, the only rules are it has to be daily, and use some form of ink as the main artists tool. You can sketch out plans in pencil first, if you so desire.
As stated before, I never remember when October finally comes around, that Inktober is a thing. So this year, I decided I was going to do it, just starting from November 28th, the day I remembered it was a thing.
This year, Jake Parker gave us a list of prompt words to help our creative endeavors. However I found a list of prompt words for myself, and those are the ones I will be using this Inktober-vember-december. Without further ado, time to show you some art. Now bare in mind, I am 20, I am not a professional, and this is just a sketchbook. Please don’t leave me, not yet, not when we’ve just begun our wonderful relationship!

I am pleased with the first image, as I have never been one for drawing faces well. Bar the teeth, it looks somewhat like me, on a good day, if you squint. Day 2 was not as good though. I am not good at drawing animals, never have been! I only recently managed to draw a semi-successful mouse for an Alice in Wonderland inspired watercolour. So I figured, well hey, I’ll just draw a mythical creature. It was all going well I think until my decision to block in a black hole of nothingness at the bottom. Maybe I can pretend it was just ‘the nothing’ from the film and move on with my day… yes, that’ll do.
I plan on attempting to do at least one drawing a day, to hopefully develop my style, and I encourage you to do the same! I will keep you updated on the drawings I create and hopefully I can figure out some new techniques.
Until then- keep drawing, or drinking coffee, whichever suits you best.
